Home at last!

Posted by Picasa

We are home! Lucy did so well on the flights home, especially for being 3 and her first time on an airplane.

It was so wonderful to come up that escalator and see our boys, and all of our family and friends who greeted us. Lucy reached out and kissed each of her brothers. They are in love with her. She was so sweet and let everyone hold her and take her picture. She made each person waiting to meet her so happy.

She seems so comfortable here at home. She loved her bedroom and immediately started looking at all of her toys. She has been sleeping well, and playing non-stop with her brothers. The boys absolutely adore her and are a huge help to me right now as I adjust to trying to remember how to get things done with a toddler in the house :), it's been awhile!

Thank you to everyone who followed us to China and back...we will keep you updated from this point on back on our family blog...Our Little China Girl.

Goodbye China

Posted by Picasa
Today we took our oath at the US Consulate with about 50 other families. Lucy is officially our daughter in every sense of the word, and when we land in Seattle she will become an American Citizen, but she will always be "Our little China Girl".
We have enjoyed every minute here in China. It is a country full of tradition, culture and kind people. We are so grateful that we have been allowed to make one of their daughters one of our own. We promise to never let her forget where she came from, and to make her proud to be a Chinese American.
Thank you to each of you who prayed for us on this journey of a lifetime. We felt lifted from the moment we began. We cannot wait for each of you to meet our Lucy Joy!

Our Asian Beauty

We took our little Asian Beauty to the White Swan Hotel for the tradition of adopting families of the "Red Couch Photo". If you are traveling with a large group all the babies are put on the couch for the picture. We are the only family traveling from our agency so we did ours alone. I cannot imagine the task of lining up more than one child, as you can see from our pictures it is quite a task!

Miss Lucy thought the whole thing was quite hysterical!

Badminton in the Park

Toby loved that the Chinese people play badminton in the park everyday....so we bought some rackets and played ourselves! Toby played with this gentleman for a few minutes. It has been so fun to see all of the locals in the park every morning exercising.
